A young Arizona couple has reportedly confessed to murdering the 15-year-old girlfriend's father for forbidding her 21-year-old boyfriend to visit her.

Deputies found 59-year-old John Norton dead in his Tonopah, Arizona, home on Oct. 23 after the 15-year-old called 911 early that afternoon to report that she saw her boyfriend, Daniel Stroh, shoot her father, and that she and her little sister had escaped the home, reports AZ Central.

Norton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stroh faces charges that include first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and tampering with evidence while his girlfriend, whose name is being withheld due to her age, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, notes AZ Family.

The daughter told authorities that her ex-boyfriend forced his way into the home and fought with her while Norton was out of the house. When he returned, Stroh shot him in the torso, she said, according to AZ Central.

But Stroh relayed a different version of events. After his grandmother confirmed that he had been at the house, Stroh told police that Norton's daughter gave him a gun and implored him to shoot her dad, even going so far as to say that if he didn't do it, she'd do it on her own and then shoot herself.

He eventually gave in and shot the older man in the head before running away with his girlfriend and her younger sister to discard the firearm, he said.

When officers interrogated the girlfriend for a second time after speaking to Stroh, she reportedly confessed to lying to them the first time.

Authorities said she then explained how she and Stroh had planned to kill Norton using a revolver hidden in the couch, because she "wanted him to take care of the problem (John), which was preventing them from seeing one another," officers wrote in official records.

AZ Central reported that the couple made the plans the day before, while AZ Family stated that they schemed for several days leading up to Norton's death.

During the second interview, she reportedly shared a different account of the shooting as well, saying that Stroh came over while Norton was out with her sister and her 7-month-old baby. When her father came home, the girl said she warned him that he would die if he entered, but he did so anyway, at which point her boyfriend allegedly shot him in the head.
