Police say a 16-year-old girl is in custody because she allegedly killed 16-year-old Shaakira Dorsey who was teasing the suspect over passing gas, last Wednesday, in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
Witnesses told 19 Action News that several adults watched the fight, but did nothing. When the fight was finally over, Dorsey collapsed.
EMS rushed her to the hospital, where she died, reports Kait8.com. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has not yet released her cause of death.
The teen suspect has been charged with one count of murder. Her name is not being released because of her age.
The Warrensville Heights School District released a statement: "Warrensville Heights City School District is deeply saddened by the loss of a member of our student family, Shaakira Dorsey, who passed away on Wednesday evening. Shaakira was an eleventh grade student at the High School and a member of the Lady Tigers Softball Team."
"We will follow our established procedures for this type of crisis. The Grief Counseling Team will be available in the High School throughout the remainder of the week and next week as well."
