Teacher Zachary Reeder Uses Facebook to Trick Boys into Sending Him Nudes

A teacher in Anaheim, Calif. was arrested after he used Facebook in an attempt to get young male students to send him nude photos.

Zachary Reeder, 30, was arrested for suspicion of lewd conduct with a child, child annoyance, and possession and distribution of child pornography.

Though authorities don’t believe he had any real life contact with the boys, he tricked them into sending him nude pictures on the social media site.

The teacher allegedly pretended to be a young female on the site and convinced the boys, suspected to be students of his, to send him personal photos.

He has since been fired from his job at Servite High School, an all-boys Catholic college preparatory.

Reeder taught social-science at the school since 2008 and also served as the director of basketball operations.

Before he taught there, he taught at a few other southern California high schools. These schools are now investigating whether he attempted to get nude photos from their students.

They are also investigating whether any misconduct occurred during his stint as a basketball coach.

Reeder took the position of basketball coach at Beckman High School in 2012, a job that required he pass extensive background checks.

He is currently married and has one daughter.

Authorities say he does not have a prior criminal record.

He is currently in jail in Orange County with no bail, and is set to go to court on Monday to enter his plea.

This case comes after a woman pretended to be a man on the social media site, and convinced a teen girl to become her girlfriend. She even met the girl and still pretended to be a man, using a flesh colored pretend penis to have sex with her.

The relationship between her and the girl lasted two years, consisting of thousands of text messages, letters, and online chats.

She was sentenced to 87 months in jail.
