A chain of tanning salons in Alabama and Florida sparked outrage after it launched a holiday ad campaign featuring a tan woman dressed as a Native American.
The advertisement for Club Sun Color Studios showed a blonde, white woman dressed as a “sexy” pilgrim standing beside a dark-skinned brunette dressed as a stereotypical Native American.
The two don stiletto heals.
The “Native American” wears a feather headband.
The ad declared: “The Indians brought more than just ‘corn’ to the first Thanksgiving … they brought sexy color!”
The ad was removed from the chain’s Facebook page and website on Wednesday, according to ThinkProgress.
