"On the Rocks" Canadian talk show host Lori Welbourne recently interviewed Walter Gray, the mayor of Kelowna in British Columbia, Canada.
During the Friday interview, Welbourne asked Mayor Gray what would happen to her if she were take her top off in Kelowna. Moments later, she removed her top and bared her breasts, noted RawStory.com (video below).
“Well, someone would probably call the police, thinking that was illegal. It is not. The bylaws were repealed,” said Mayor Gray.
"So I can go topless here in Kelowna?" asked the topless Welbourne.
"Evidently. I'm not suggesting you should do that, but I don't think you'd be committing any crime or violating any bylaw," answered Mayor Gray.
“So, what is the big deal with it? Why do people not do it? Why aren’t we seeing people walking around topless now?” Welbourne asked.
“Well, there are lots of things people can do, but don’t do because maybe they feel it’s inappropriate. Things could be inappropriate, but not necessarily breaking the law. The difference is probably that a woman’s chest causes a distraction," added Mayor Gray.
