Police in Washington state are investigating after a video (below) shared to Facebook captured an adult throwing a 4-year-old child from a bridge into a river.
The Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an incident which occurred in a popular gathering spot along the Wynoochee River in Montesano, Washington, according to KING-TV.
In a video shared to Facebook by Kaylub Fawley, a 4-year-old boy can be seen being thrown from a railroad bridge into the river.
"He was screaming and crying, it was terrible," said witness Brianna Jones, who was swimming with friends at the time.
"As soon as he hit the water, my heart sank," said Fawley. "I felt so bad, I didn't know what to do."
Fawley said he was taking a photo of his friend when he noticed something suspicious happening on the bridge and decided to record what he saw.
"I saw the little boy and I had a gut feeling -- I was like alright I got to start recording this, and as soon as I started recording, he went off," Fawley told KING-TV.
Fawley quickly called police and provided them with video of the incident.
The 4-year-old was not injured in the fall. A spokesperson for the sheriff's office says that the boy's mother, as well as a male acquaintance, are currently being investigated on charges of reckless endangerment. Child Protective Services is also involved in the investigation.
