Suspected NYPD Cop Killer Reportedly Had Ties To Black Guerrilla Family

The man suspected of gunning down two police officers on Saturday afternoon is reportedly a member of a gang that called for the murder of NYPD officers just a few weeks ago.

According to the New York Daily News, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, the man who police reportedly believe orchestrated an execution-style attack on two NYPD police officers, may be a member of the Black Guerrilla Family. The organization reportedly put a greenlight on officers in response to the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown at the hands of police officers.

“BGF has been talking about getting back at cops for Eric Garner and Ferguson,” a source told the New York Daily News.

The suspected gunman’s Instagram posts in the hours leading up to the cop killings indicated that he was “putting wings on pigs” today. He also made a reference to both Garner and Brown in the same posts.

Earlier this month, an undercover NYPD officer reportedly found out about the plot to kill officers. The threat was deemed serious enough by administrators to issue this memo:
