Student: Oregon College Gunman Asked Victims Their Religion (Video)

A gunman opened fire on the campus of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, on Oct. 1, killing as many as 10 people. During a press conference, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said the male gunman died during a shootout with law enforcement (video below).

Kortney Moore, a student, told The News-Review that the shooter ordered her and other students to get on the floor of a classroom, made them stand up and state their religion, and then opened fire.

The New York Post reports that an unidentified woman, who claimed to have a grandmother in the classroom, tweeted: “The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian. If they said yes, then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs. My grandma just got to my house, and she was in the room. She wasn’t shot, but she is very upset."

The Twitter user reportedly claimed that her grandmother "tried to perform CPR on her friend, but it was too late. I hope nothing like this ever happens again.”
