Strangers Coming Through For Teen Thrown Out Of House For Being Bisexual (Video)

A teenager’s father and stepmother tossed him out of the house he lived in with them when they found out he was bisexual. However, things are starting to get better for the 18-year-old, thanks to the generosity of strangers.

MSN reports that not only was the teen verbally attacked and booted from the house, but that the father and stepmother of the 18-year-old known as Nick also cut off his phone, took back his car and confiscated the money he'd made bagging groceries.

Now, with the help of people he doesn’t even know, Nick, a freshman at Kennesaw State, is getting a lot of support and help.

Steve Bevers, whose mother-in-law works with Nick, took the Georgia teen into his home and set up a Go Fund Me page to help raise money, according to the Huffington Post.

In a statement to the Huffington Post, Bevers said,"When I heard about what happened to Nick I was flabbergasted. I couldn't understand how a parent could do that. While I'm sure there are multiple sides to the story, I just was amazed. I was hurt. The first thing I asked was, 'Does he need a place to stay? Does he need some money?'"

The Go Fund Me page, which went up on Oct. 22, has been a huge success. As of Sunday morning, the goal of $15,000 had been bypassed as more than $16,100 had been raised.

“I just want to thank everybody for all the love and support,” said Nick in a video. “I’m still in shock from seeing that account. I can’t believe it.”
