The story of Jian Feng, who sued his wife in a northern China court after learning she had plastic surgery and produced the couple’s “incredibly ugly” child, now appears it might be nothing more than a hoax.
When the story initially surfaced, it was reported that Feng won a judgment of $120,000, according to KDVR. As the story goes, Feng said his issues with his wife’s looks began after the couple’s daughter was born. Feng was appalled by the child’s appearance, calling her “incredibly ugly” and saying she resembled neither one of her parents.
Feng reportedly initially accused his wife of cheating before she admitted to spending $100,000 on intense plastic surgeries to drastically change her appearance before she met Feng. When Feng found out about the procedures, he divorced his wife and filed the lawsuit, saying the woman convinced him to marry her under false pretenses. A judge reportedly agreed and awarded Feng the six-digit judgment.
The Huffington Post, which admits it went with the story more than a year ago along with other news sources, reports that there has been no official confirmation of the story and suspicions abound it could well have been a hoax, especially based on a new photo that’s making its way around the web.
A photo is now available that seems to show the couple with their three children. As the Huffington Post notes, if the sight of the first-born prompted legal action, it's unlikely the couple would have procreated a further two times and posed for a family portrait.
