Surveillance cameras captured the shocking moment a Louisiana convenience store owner took his gun out from behind the counter to shoot a group of armed robbers in disguises (video below).

In the video footage, three men are seen walking into Lee Rays General Store in Wardville, Louisiana, the Daily Mail reported. They all have hoods over their heads, and one of the suspects is seen brandishing a gun in his hands.

The suspects appear to be threatening the man behind the counter. That man was identified as Frank Issa, the store's owner. The suspects then demanded money from the cash register, KALB reported.

But the situation quickly goes south for the would-be robbers when one of them pushes two customers out of the way and mounts himself on top of the counter, pointing his gun toward the back of the store. He appeared to be trying to get the attention of other employees.

Issa's brother, who was also at the store at the time, was able to distract the three men. Issa then dove behind the counter to retrieve his own gun.

The shocking footage then shows Issa rise from behind the counter with his weapon in his hand. He is seen firing the gun several times at the three men, who then run out of the store.

"At that time, the clerk armed himself and fired at the suspects, hitting one suspect in the abdomen and another suspect in the arm," a news release stated, according to The Town Talk. "All three suspects then fled the store."

None of the three suspects appeared to be critically struck as they made their escape. However, Issa said he believes he hit two of the men.

Police Sheriff William Earl Hilton confirmed to KALB that one of the suspects was in the hospital. He said another suspect was treated and released to his parents. One of the patients was a 16-year-old whose gunshot wound was consistent with what detectives were told about the shooting, according to the news release.

Law enforcement officials are still looking for the third suspect, who could not be identified in the surveillance footage. That suspect was not shot, according to reports.

None of the suspects' names have been released at this time, and charges have also yet to be announced. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking for anyone with information on the attempted robbery to come forward.
