Two Missouri thieves robbed six people on Saturday night and yelled “This is for Michael Brown” before fleeing the scene, according to police.
The six victims, between the ages of 59 and 61, were leaving a St. Louis restaurant in a predominantly white neighborhood when the two suspects approached. The two thieves allegedly robbed the group at gunpoint and declared the crime in the name of Ferguson’s Michael Brown.
According to police, the two suspects appeared to be black males between the ages of 18 and 25. One suspect was described as 5’6”, wearing a white tank top with jeans and twisties. The other was described as 5’9” with black clothing and a ski mask.
Residents responded with shock that an armed robbery could occur in their older, trendy neighborhood. One resident noted that she always felt safe walking in the area at night, while another was surprised that anyone could get away with such a crime in a well-traveled area.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
An investigation into the armed robbery is ongoing.
