Remember the men who were busted last week with plans to kill Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson and bomb the St. Louis Arch? It looks like they would have carried out even more damage if they’d had more money.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the men tried to buy three pipe bombs but could only afford one. They were caught by federal agents before an Electronic Benefits Transfer card they planned to use was refilled.
Brandon Orlando Brown and Olujawon Ali Davis were both indicted last week on weapons charges. Brown, who goes by Brandon Ali, was indicted for buying two .45-caliber pistols with intentions of giving them to someone else. Additional charges for the bomb and murder plots are expected to be announced soon.
The New Black Panthers, of which Davis affiliated with in the past, released a statement recently calling the bomb and murder plot accusations “totally unfounded” and “trumped up and baseless.” The statement says the New Black Panthers do “not teach, endorse, or allow its members to commit acts of violence against anyone regardless to the circumstance, unless in imminent danger according to the rules of Self-Defense.”
