Special Needs Teen Found Murdered With Important Body Part Cut Out

An 18-year-old special needs woman from Texas was found murdered with her uterus cut out. Authorities suspect that the victim's stepfather, who allegedly raped and impregnated her, may be responsible for the gruesome killing.

The body of Holli Jeffcoat was found in a semi-burned home in Idalou, Texas, on February 10, reported the New York Daily News.

Weeks later, police detained Jeffcoat’s stepfather, James Holland, 39, on three counts of sexual abuse. He has not been officially connected to Jeffcoat's murder.

Instead, Jeffcoat's mother, Debi Holland, has been implicated in the murder after she allegedly set the Idalou house on fire in what seemed to be an effort to hide signs of rape and Jeffcoat's pregnancy. The murderer slit Jeffcoat's throat and cut out her uterus, where there was a 13-week-old fetus.

In February, Jeffcoat, who had the mental capacity of about a 7-year-old, exposed the ongoing sexual abuse to her school officials.

“[Jeffcoat] didn’t want to go home with dad because she didn’t want to have sex,” a school official reported in court documents, according to KCBD. “The sex hurt.”

Jeffcoat reportedly told the school she could feel the baby inside her and her stepfather intended to abort it with a coat hanger.

Court documents cite that the sexual abuse started in 2008, according to the New York Daily News.

Debi Holland is in jail on charges of aggravated sexual assault, and bond has been set at $500,000. James Holland's bail has been set at $1 million.

Authorities have not charged any suspect in connection with Jeffcoat's death.
