Son Surprised To Find Out What Dad Does When He Visits Wife's Burial Site (Photos)

More than a year ago, Jake Reissig of Conroe, Texas, lost his wife, Elizabeth. Since then, he has visited her grave twice a day to water the grass and decorate her headstone with roses clipped from his garden. The lushness of the grave stands out among the burial plots that have turned brown and dried out during the recent drought.

But it was Jake’s actions towards a mourning widow that prompted Roger Reissig, Jake’s son, to post on Facebook about his father’s graveyard habits.

“One day while watering he saw a young lady down from him kneeling at a grave and crying uncontrollably. Dad went down and talked with her and found that her husband had been an SSGT in the US Air Force and lost him in 2010. After they talked and shared stories, she thanked him and left. Dad decided to Honor this soldier and start watering his grass along with Moms daily. He does it every day.”

Jake wrote in the now-viral post that his father explained that “it is the least he can do for him after all that he sacrificed for us.”
