A man was killed in Brazil after a soccer fan threw a toilet bowl from stadium stands during a spat between rival clubs.
A Recife police officer said the death occurred Friday at Arruda Stadium after a match between Parana and Santa Cruz.
Riotous fans ripped three toilet bowls from stadium restrooms and threw them from the stands.
A man identified by police as Paulo Ricardo Gomes da Silva was hit and killed instantly.
"The toilet was thrown from the stands and hit him full on," police captain Wilson Queiroz told Globesporte. "The victim was with someone at the time but everyone fled the scene after the incident."
In six weeks, Brazil will host FIFA World Cup. Four tournament games are scheduled to take place in Recife.
