Forest Pullman has been a skydiving instructor for 15 years, but a jump he made on Oct. 19, 2014 was almost his last.
A YouTube video Pullman posted on Feb. 6 shows him and a passenger jumping out of an airplane flying 13,000 feet over Thailand. After less than a minute, Pullman’s equipment nearly collides with the plane he and his passenger just jumped from.
Text over the video reads, “Yes, that’s my drogue and bridle over the wing. Our bodies just missing the prop, wing and tail.”
For a few moments, the passenger didn’t realize how serious the situation was. Just moments later however, she realizes what happened. “Now she knows we almost got cut in half,” the text reads.
In the video’s description, Pullman explained the almost fatal turn of events. “After an uneventful exit.... The pilot dove the airplane 180 degrees right at me and my tandem passenger. how we got so lucky?!?! Not sure,” he wrote.
“I have never heard of this happening. After some research and talking to friends about it I now know of two other incidents like this.”
After landing, both Pullman and his passenger said “We made it,” high-fiving and hugging each other.
The video ends with the message, “To live another day! But time to reconsider…BE SAFE OUT THERE!”
