A six-year-old boy in China had his eyes gouged out in a suspected attack by a woman organ trafficker on Monday.
The boy, who has a cleft palate and lives in the northern province of Shanxi, had gone missing for multiple hours while he was playing outside. His family members eventually found him covered in blood and without eyes, according to Fox News.
"He had blood all over his face. His eyelids were turned inside out. And inside, his eyeballs were not there," the boy’s father said.
His eye balls were on the ground near him, with the corneas extracted from them, leading police to believe the crime was committed by an organ trafficker.
Police have announced a $16,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspected woman behind the attack.
The boy was shown in a televised report as he was taken to a hospital and family members cried while watching him in pain.
Officials said the boy had been drugged and was not conscious while his eyes were gouged out.
