A shooting at a Sparks, Nev., school on Monday has put the school on lockdown, although Sparks police say the suspected shooter has since been “neutralized.”
Two people are dead and two others are in critical condition, according to New York Daily News. Those injured are two male minors, according to a spokeswoman at Renown Regional Hospital.
It is unclear how many were shot in the incident. At least one 12-year-old boy was shot as classes began Monday, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Sparks police spokesman Rocky Triplett to the Reno Gazette-Journal that students have been evacuated from Sparks Middle School to nearby Agnes Risley Middle School.
Both schools, just east of Reno, are now closed and parents are being allowed to pick up their children.
Police have set up a command area at the school, but offered no further information at this time.
