Selma Blair, the actress who most recently appeared in the television series "The People v. O.J. Simpson," was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital June 20.
The 43-year-old had just arrived in Los Angeles on a flight from Cancun. Aboard the plane, she exhibited signs of excessive intoxication due to having consumed a suspected combination of alcohol and prescription medication, reports the Daily Mail. When the plane arrived, paramedics were on hand to haul her off on a stretcher.
On the flight, she began screaming about being abused by an unnamed man. “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink. He beats me. He’s going to kill me,” she shouted, according to the Daily Mail, citing the celebrity gossip news channel TMZ.
Her ex-husband, Ahmet Zappa, who is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with his rock-star family according to Rolling Stone, is not mentioned in reports of the incident.
Blair had been in Cancun with her ex-boyfriend, Jason Bleick, and their 4-year-old son, Arthur, celebrating Father’s Day.
She had complained in the past of the trauma posed by her breakup with Bleick, and the difficulty with raising her young son, but the cause of her outburst aboard the plane remains open to speculation.
The status of her current medical condition has not been reported.
