A missing woman’s body was found by scuba divers in Mission Bay, near San Diego, California, on Sept. 13.
Members of a scuba diving group found the body floating along the west end of Mission Bay, and notified authorities, the San Diego Union Tribune reports. The body was later identified as 77-year-old Marie Donson.
Dobson was last seen on the morning on Sept. 8, when she left her home in Clairemont. When she didn’t return later that day, her daughter — who lived in the home with her — became concerned and filed a missing persons report.
Donson had a mild case of dementia, reports NBC San Diego.
A Fire and Rescue representative told reporters Donson appeared to have died days before she was discovered.
