Robber Steals iPad From 2-Year-Old After Knocking Him To The Ground (Video)

A robber was caught on surveillance video knocking a 2-year-old boy to the ground and stealing his iPad outside of a laundromat in Houston, Texas.

The robbery took place on April 19 at a washateria as the toddler's mother was carrying clothing back and forth from her vehicle to the laundromat, reports KHOU. The video (shown below) shows a man reaching down to snatch the device out of the boy's hands before shoving him to the ground and rushing off.

"It's pretty deplorable when the victim is a two-year-old child," said Senior Officer Ken Nealy with the Houston Police Department. "I've chased a lot of crooks but this is probably the biggest thug I've ever seen. To see some man knock a two-year-old child to the ground to take an iPad."

Police say they believe the suspect, who is being described as a black male teen, about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with short hair and a thin build, is part of a duo who have recently stolen purses and cell phones from residents in the area.

The young victim's mother told KHOU that the incident has left her 7-year-old daughter frightened to leave the house and play in the park unless she is right next to her. She added that her son is unaware of what happened to his iPad.

"The only thing is, 'Where is my iPad?' Every day. 'My iPad, my iPad, mommy. My iPad,'" the mother said.

Just a few days ago, robbery suspects in Casselberry, Florida, injured a young girl who was playing with an iPhone 6 Plus at a T-Mobile store by pulling the phone out of her hand and causing the security chord attached to it to drag along her neck, reports WESH 2 News.

Last August, police and residents of Coventry, Rhode Island, were shocked and outraged after a couple reportedly stole an iPad from a 15-year-old nonverbal special needs teen as he and his caretaker were shopping at a Walmart, reports WPRI. The teen, whose iPad was ultimately recovered, relies on the device to help him communicate.
