A would-be robber in Milwaukee met an untimely end last Friday after a customer shot him.
A co-owner of Level Up Barber Shop and Auto Body Repair, who asked to be identified only as Ty to protect his identity, told WISN he’d never seen the robber before the incident.
“He asked some questions about how much a haircut costs, then went into the bathroom to put his mask on and get his gun ready or whatever," Ty said. The robber began patting down customers when one of them pulled out a gun and shot him.
Ty believes the customer protected himself and other customers. "One of the customers acted in self-defense," he said. "He had his (concealed-carry permit), a registered firearm, and unfortunately killed the robber."
Neither the robber nor the customer who shot him has been identified, and Ty is uncertain as to why his business was targeted.
Ty also has a concealed weapon permit due to the violence in Milwaukee. "The crime rate is so high," he said. "It's like nobody wants to work for an honest living anymore."
The gunman was taken into custody for questioning, but the case will be turned over to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for review once the investigation is completed.
