Restaurant Worker Stabbed For Not Lending A Man A Pen

A Utah restaurant worker was stabbed early Sunday because he refused to lend a pen to a man who wanted to get a girl’s phone number.

Kristopher Davis, 32, reportedly walked into Beto’s Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City around 2:40 a.m. Sunday and asked an employee for a pen. When the worker didn’t immediately give him a pen, Davis allegedly slapped him in the face, KSTU reported.

According to police, the worker tried to walk Davis out of the restaurant, when he pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the stomach and leg.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Davis, who has a lengthy rap sheet including burglary, domestic violence, assault and criminal mischief, was found 15 minutes later at a hotel about half a block away. Police said he confessed to the stabbing.

He was charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, and booked into Salt Lake County Jail.
