Temperatures rose in the Sea of Galilee, located in Israel, when a Republican voted “Hottest Freshmen in Congress” drunkenly dived into the historic body of water without clothes, reports the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, the FBI was forced to investigate 36-year-old Kevin Yoder when he partied during a tour of Israel in August 2011. The trip was meant to serve as an educational experience for newly elected Congress members.
Yoder and six other new Republican Congressmen had additional plans.
After leaving an expensive hotel dinner, several of the men jumped into the lake fully or partially clothed. The alcohol and adrenaline must have been running high for Yoder, considering he was the only member to swim in the buff that fateful night.
Thanks the investigation, the Kansas representative and the six other Republican Congressmen were eventually shamed due to their behavior by accompanying senior House members Eric Candor and Kevin McCarthy.
In a statement to Politico, Yoder said the following:
“It is my greatest honor to represent the people of Kansas in Congress and (for) any embarrassment I have caused for my colleagues and constituents, I apologize."
This isn't the first time Yoder has found himself in hot water. According to the Daily Mail: "In 2009, Rep. Yoder was cited for refusing to take a DUI breathalyzer test after being pulled over by a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper. His campaign maintains he hadn't been drinking."
