Lawmaker Accidentally Shoots And Kills Herself Adjusting Her Bra Holster

On Jan. 1, Christina Bond, 55, a Precinct Delegate for Saint Joseph Charter Precinct 1 in Michigan, accidentally shot herself in the eye. She died the next day after being airlifted from Lakeland Hospital to Bronson Methodist Hospital.

St. Joseph Public Safety detectives are waiting on the autopsy report, but MLive reported Bond accidentally fired the gun while adjusting her bra holster.

“She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn't get it to fit the way she wanted it to. She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon," St. Joseph Public Safety Director Mark Clapp said.

According to the obituary created by Florin Funeral Services, Bond was an administrator at the Road to Life Church for 15 years and an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Bond also valued fitness and won the Miss Michigan Figure Overall Championship in 2013.

In her younger years, Bond joined the United States Navy out of high school, severed two terms and was an active Military Police Officer.

She was due to be married to her fiancée James V. Wicks and leaves behind two sons and six grandchildren.
