Reeva Steenkamp, who was killed by her partner Oscar Pistorius on Valentine's Day, seems to have predicted her own death, at least according to her parents.
On a documentary that is set to air soon, her parents recall their daughter's painting of what appeared to be a field. In the field, there was a gunman, an angel, and a staircase leading to heaven. The parents believe the angel was Reeva.
Pistorius is denying that he murdered Steenkamp, saying he shot her because he thought she was an intruder. But Steenkamp's parents said they feared for their daughter's safety because she told them she was having problems with Pistorius.
"Reeva painted these pictures when she was 14, they've been in the house for a long time now, but we never really realized what they were about. If you look at it now, it's clear as anything that this is a premonition," her parents said.
But deciding whether or not the painting is a premonition is difficult, as Inquisitr notes that many children and even adults paint things that hold no real meaning.
Van Gogh often expressed his inner turmoil through his paintings, but has never been thought to predict his own death through them.
