A group of anti-NYPD protestors were on the receiving end of an angry biker gang's wrath when they burned a U.S. flag and a Confederate flag during their protest.

The flag-burning activity was orchestrated by a few dozen members of the group Disarm NYPD at a Brooklyn park. But their plans quickly went up in smoke when a group of bikers arrived.

The objective was to bring attention to police brutality and institutional racism following the Charleston, S.C. Emanuel AME Church massacre, according to the New York Daily News.

“We want people to know that American society at the moment is still structurally racist,” said Carlos Cabeza, one of the group’s members. “Americans have this illusion that we live in a post-racial society. This is our way of starting a conversation about structural racism and white supremacy.”

Police arrived at Fort Greene Park at about 8 p.m. when protestors burned Old Glory on a small barbecue grill and incensed 40 members of the Hallowed Sons Motorcycle Club.

“They took off like little b*****s,” one biker said to the New York Post. “They lit the f***ing flag and took off running once they got slapped once or twice.”

The anti-NYPD group publicized on social media that they had planned on burning a flag in protest of the police department’s policies. The biker gang was part of a large number of flag-waving counter-protestors at the scene.

Although flag burning is illegal in the park, the protestors found a loophole in the law that allows cooking the flag in closed barbecue grills.

It didn’t take long before one of the bikers ran over to the grill and kicked it, creating a burst of flying embers. He proceeded to douse it as the counter-protestors yelled “USA! USA!”

Then the biker gang attempted to assault the protesters physically, but the same police officers that the anarchists were protesting managed to save them from the bikers.

The protesters were guarded by the cops and chaperoned out of the park.

“I served in the Marines,” said counter-protester Brian Christopher, 23. “We defend this flag. We are ready to die for it. When I see people burning it and showing complete ignorance, it’s very offensive.”

No arrests were made in the incident.
