A poll was recently conducted by 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair that reveals what women think the perfect man is. Apparently, they believe the perfect man is 40 years old, successful and a doctor who looks like Patrick Dempsey.
The survey asked 1,168 people across the nation about what they believe is important in a partner.
The participants ranked education at the top of the list, with 35 percent saying it was a man's most important quality. Coming in second and third was being a hard worker and a gentleman. One percent said being an "athlete" was the most important.
As for looks, a third said they would be most likely to marry a man who looked like Patrick Dempsey's Dr. Derek Shepard character on Grey's Anatomy. Four percent said they preferred Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock and three percent said they preferred Mad Men's Don Droper and Robb Stark from Game of Thrones.
The worst quality was having a bad temper and being a drunk.
One of the most surprising findings was that 69 percent said they wanted the man's mother to have "a lot of control," and nine percent said they wanted her to have "total control."
The majority of women said they believed a man's success should be measured by the time they reach 40, but 23 percent said that deadline goes until their "deathbed."
As for pickup lines, women said, "Do you have a map? Because I just got lost in your eyes" was the best, while "You must be Jamaican, because Jamaican me crazy" was the worst.
