Colorado authorities are searching for a man whose face is said to be covered in pink.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the suspect is wanted for sexually assaulting a woman near the entrance of Red Rocks Community College over the March 11 weekend, KDVR reports.
He is described as being white, in his 20s or early 30s, 6-foot to 6-foot-1 with possibly short blond hair.
“He dragged her off the side of the road [and down a hill into a grassy area],” Lakewood police Sgt. Randy McNitt said.
The woman fought back by shooting pink pepper spray into the man’s face -- the bottle had breast cancer awareness packaging. The woman told investigators she may also have scratched the suspect’s face.
After the suspect was sprayed, he ran away and the victim alerted authorities to the incident.
Although the exact model of the pepper spray was not mentioned, it's possible that the victim used Sabre Red Pepper Spray. According to Amazon.com, the spray is touted as the “world’s top selling pepper spray” and spurts ten bursts in one second.
“We’re real interested in anyone who would have any information about having seen a person, friend, acquaintance with something like that on them,” McNitt told KDVR.
The pink hue should stay on the suspect’s face and clothing for a little while.
Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call Lakewood police at 303-987-7111.
In January 2015, Opposing Views reported that a 17-year-old Danish girl fought off her attacker by using pepper spray. Unfortunately, the victim was charged with violating the arms act which forbids citizens from possessing and using the spray in Denmark.
