Suspect Identified In Quadruple Murder-Suicide

Police in Fairbanks, Alaska, believe McKay Hutton, 22, was responsible for a suspected murder-suicide on Nov. 25.

Before turning the gun on himself, McKay shot his mother, 54-year-old Linda Hutton; his wife, 22-year-old Emily McDonald; and their child, 8-week-old Teagan Hutton, reports People.

The deaths were discovered when police responded to a call from the local Hampton Inn, whose staff reported a “suspicious circumstance.” When police arrived, they found an adult male crying outside the room that contained the four dead bodies.

According to police, the anonymous weeping man is a relative of those who died, and was not present during the shootings. The motive is not yet known, authorities say.

McDonald and McKay were recently married and were the new parents of baby Teagan, according to their Facebook pages. McKay's page has since been taken down.

The identity of an older child who appears with them in some of the pictures remains a mystery. “That child’s identity is not being released at this time but he was not present during this incident and is safe,” authorities said. “Relationship between this child and any of the victims is still being investigated.”

Everything seemed to be going fine with the young couple, judging from the suspect’s Facebook posts. In one message, directed to his wife, McKay wrote: "To the one I love you much, my soul mate, my best friend, my lover my everything, our special night brought us both such happiness, the love I feel everyday to you waking up in my arms, your the most cherished part of my life. To many more years with you sweetheart, I love you always and forever."

Other Facebook posts reveal him to be a typical Alaskan male. He was a Second Amendment enthusiast, and in one photo he is seen in front of a flag bearing the slogan “Don’t Tread on Me.”

Autopsies on the four victims will be performed in Anchorage, Alaska.
