The Police Are After Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian may be under arrest by foreign authorities. Iran’s crackdown on explicit social media posts has led to an accusation that Kardashian is a secret agent.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp has charged the reality TV star with inciting youngsters to follow her behavior.

“Ms. Kim Kardashian is a popular fashion model so Instagram’s CEO tells her, ‘Make this native,’” the agency's spokesman, Mostafa Alizadeh, said on an Iranian news program. “There is no doubt that financial support is involved as well. We are taking this very seriously.”

According to Vanity Fair, the organization claims Kardashian works for Instagram in a scheme “target[ing] young people and women” and manipulating them to abandon their Muslim values by posting their own selfies to the social networking site.

Kardashian is of half Armenian descent, and the country shares a border with Iran.

Iran has also started to clamp down on citizens who post glitzy images to social networks as well.

The Revolutionary Guards say they have notified 170 individuals and 29 of them are being persecuted as part of “Operation Spider 2”, a cyberspace crimes unit that monitors people’s online actions, reports Vanity Fair via Daily Mail.

The group accuses those social media accounts of “promoting a culture of promiscuity, weakening and rejecting the institution of family, ridiculing religious values and beliefs, promoting relationships outside moral rules, and publishing the private pictures of young women.”

Authorities have arrested eight models in a new onslaught directed at “un-Islamic acts” like women exposing their hair. Elham Arab, a famous model known for her wedding-dress photographs, was charged with “promoting western promiscuity.” Arab was questioned on camera at the Iranian Revolutionary Court with her blonde hair hidden under a black Hijab.

Some of the Instagram posters have escaped Iran. Makeup artist and model, Elnaz Golrokh, has 638,000 followers on Instagram and frequently posts glamourous selfies of her life in Dubai and advertises protein supplements, Daniel Wellington Watches and other beauty products.

Golrokh is married to another Iranian model – Hamid Fadaei -- who fled the country and now lives in Dubai. Fadaei has 201,000 followers and also pushes Daniel Wellington watches on his account.
