Pizza Delivery Guy Anson Lemmer Performs CPR To Save Customer's Life (Video)

A pizza delivery boy is being called a hero after he saved the life of a customer by performing CPR while making a delivery.

Two days after Anson Lemmer, 19, began his summer job at Uncle Pizza in Glenwood, Colorado, he arrived at an address on Valley View Road with a hot pizza, and saw a man turning blue outside of the house, according to the Post Independent.

There were two other people with the victim — one attempting CPR and one calling 911. That’s when Lemmer sprang into action to do chest compressions until EMTs from the Glenwood Fire Department showed up a few minutes later.

“It’s not a situation that I’ve ever been in before, but I felt prepared for it,” Lemmer said, according to Fox31. “I took a CPR training course through the Red Cross when I was 12 or 13, and I guess that’s the kind of training that really sticks with you.”

Lemmer’s manager wondered what had taken so long, and thought he got lost on his delivery.

“I called my parents and said this has been the craziest pizza delivery ever. I left a pizza boy and came back a pizza man,” Lemmer said. “They were proud of me. Totally unexpected thing.”

The man that was rescued is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

“I don’t think it was anything heroic that I did,” Lemmer said. “It was just something that I had to do.”

According to the Post Independent, not only did he receive a $25 tip and get to take a box of pizza home, but he also made headlines around the world.
