A male employee of South Carolina's environmental agency is in a coma after a severe attack by two Pit in Dillon County. His name has not been released.
Sheriff's Captain Cliff Arnett says the employee of the Department of Health and Environmental Control was working in a rural area when he was attacked by the two dogs on Tuesday, February 5. The man managed to make a call to 911.
There were no details issued regarding the specific injuries, but he is listed in critical condition in a hospital, according to the Associated Press. A family member says he has been placed in a medically induced coma.
Deputies shot the dogs and they will be tested for rabies.
