The New York Post is being criticized for its use of a controversial front page photo (see image below) that depicts a man seconds before he is killed by a train.
Freelance photographer R. Umar Abbasi snapped the chilling photo after 58-year-old Ki Suk Han was pushed onto the tracks by an unknown attacker. Han stares at the oncoming train as it comes racing forward. Han was hit by the train and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Was the Post right to publish such a photo above the over-the-top 'DOOMED'?
Media Bistro did a quick round-up of what others are saying:
According to reports, Abbasi said he got the picture because he was "running toward the train, trying to warn the conductor with his camera’s flash."
