Philadelphia Phillies' Jonathan Papelbon Claims Obama 'Wants to Take Our Guns From Us' (Video)

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jonathan Papelbon recently spoke with Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and claimed President Obama "wants to take our guns from us and everything," reports (video below).

Papelbon was asked by Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia about the bombings in the Boston Marathon, which he called “surreal.”

"Families are ruined, lives are ruined. For what? It’s just sad,” said Papelbon. “We walked through the crowd here on opening day and in Boston. We came down through the bleachers on opening day. I don’t feel comfortable doing that.”

Papelbon then said President Obama wanted to take guns away from Americans, but did not cite any evidence of this claim.

“Today’s day and age has gotten so crazy," said Papelbon. "Shoot man, Obama wants to take our guns from us and everything. You got all this stuff going on; it’s just a little bit insane for me, man. I’m not sure how to take it.”

The National Rifle Association (and other gun lobbyists) has falsely claimed for months that President Obama wants to take away guns, reported

After the gun background check measure failed in the U.S. Senate yesterday, President Obama attacked “the gun lobby and its allies” who “willfully lied about the bill," reports  (video below).
