Four police officers were killed on Thursday night when gunfire interrupted what started as a peaceful protest.
According to Dallas Police Chief David Brown, two snipers opened fire on a group of officers in downtown Dallas. When it was all said and done, 11 officers had been shot and four were injured.
Police identified Mark Hughes as a person of interest after the shooting, reports the Daily Mail. CBS reports that Hughes is the brother of one of the organizers of the rally.
Hughes turned himself into custody on Thursday night.
The Daily Mail notes that Hughes' brother says he was not one of the shooters.
Hughes was later released from custody.
