Pennsylvania woman Erika Rizzon was arrested after she reportedly drove drunk with her infant son in her lap.
Rizzon, 32, struck a curb in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 9, Inside Edition reports. At the time of the crash, witnesses said that Rizzon’s 8-month-old son was in her lap.
Authorities noted that the seatbelt was wrapped around Rizzon and her son.
“Rizzon was slurring her speech and saying things that did not make sense," a police criminal complaint read, according to Inside Edition. "She had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath and person and stated she had one drink of liquor prior to the crash."
According to police, Rizzon was also unable to walk or stand without losing her balance. Even when Rizzon sat on the curb, she lost her balance.
Rizzon was taken to a local hospital for a blood test, though the results are currently pending. She was then charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering the welfare of a child.
Rizzon was released on $3,000 bail. She will appear in court on Jan. 21.
Rizzon does not have a history of DUIs.
