A video (below) was released on Nov. 5 showing Hummelstown police officer Lisa Mearkle fatally shooting 59-year-old David Kassick in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, The Free Thought Project reports.
The Dauphin County District Attorney's Office says on its website the video is from the camera on Mearkle's Taser. Mearkle was criminally charged after the shooting, but found not guilty of criminal homicide.
The incident began when Mearkle pulled Kassick over for an expired sticker on his car. Kassick ran to the backyard of his family home, when Mearkle shot Kassick with the Taser, and applied a charge for about 30 seconds, notes The Free Thought Project.
In the video, Mearkle screams at Kassick to get on the ground while he lays on the snow, writhing from the electricity applied through the Taser.
Mearkle also yells at Kassick to show his hands, which he does several times.
Mearkle then shoots Kassick twice as he lays face down on the snow.
