Michael Jackson's three children made a rare appearance together in a holiday photo.
Paris Jackson, 19, the award-winning singer's daughter, appeared with her brothers, 20-year-old Prince Michael Jackson I and 15-year-old Prince Michael "Blanket" Jackson II, who now goes by Bigi, in an Instagram photo. Family friend Omer Bhatti also appeared in the shot, according to CNN.
"Happy Christmas from ours to yours #brahdas," Paris captioned the photo.
While Paris, who is a model and actress, and Prince Michael, who has his own production company, have embraced their roles as public figures, Bigi has been more private and does not often appear in photos.
On Nov. 19, 2002, when Bigi was 9 months old, his father held him over a hotel balcony as photographers and onlookers tried to get a glimpse of the youngest of Michael Jackson's sons.
The incident was widely covered in the media at the time, and caused a scandal, according to E! News.
"Considering Mr. Jackson started a charity to protect children, this was alarmingly irresponsible behavior with a child," Prevent Child Abuse America’s Kevin Kirkpatrick said at the time, reports Heavy. "Holding a child like that with what appeared to be one arm while leaning over a fourth-floor balcony window is pretty careless to say the least."
"I offer no excuses for what happened," said Jackson in a statement at the time. "I got caught up in the excitement of the moment. I would never intentionally endanger the lives of my children."
Michael Jackson was known for making efforts to conceal his children's identities in public to protect their privacy, including having them wear masks in public.
"My dad spoke to me like an adult," Prince Michael said in a 2016 interview with the Los Angeles Times. "He told us the reason for the masks was he wanted us to have our own life without him."
"I don't think I ever thought about if other kids lived like that when I was younger," Prince Michael added. "But once I knew who he was, I realized it wasn't normal. I remember being in Disneyland and I went to the window and there were all these fans waving and taking pictures of me. I thought it was normal, so I just waved back... You could say my whole life has been unconventional. I really love that though, and it's all I've ever known."
Bigi reportedly stopped going by Blanket in 2015 after suffering years of bullying, according to a report from People.
"The kids live like Michael is constantly looking down upon them," said a family friend, who added that Bigi "has had the most problems adjusting after Michael died. He acted very lost and extremely upset."
