A registered sex offender in California was arrested after being accused of masturbating in the children’s section of a Huntington Beach Barnes & Noble.
Bradley Meenahan, a 51-year-old transient, was arrested on a charge of indecent exposure, KTLA reports
Meenahan was identified during an investigation as the man caught pleasuring himself in the children’s section of the Barnes & Noble in the Bella Terra Mall on Feb. 23, police said.
The sex offender reportedly ignored a customer’s confrontation but finally left the store after the store’s manager approached him.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements helped police identify the offender as Meenahan, who was already gone by the time police arrived at the scene.
Meenahan was arrested on Feb. 25 and is being held on $100,000 bail. According to police records, he is due in court on March 8.
Police said Meenahan admitted to touching himself at least 20 times at “random locations” in Southern California in the weeks leading up to his arrest. He has been living in a van near Venice Beach.
