Japanese pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita's penis was responsible for ruining his Olympic dreams after it caused him to foul during the qualifying rounds in Rio (video below).
Ogita was reportedly attempting to clear 5.3 meters in group A of the first pole vault round when his leg hit the bar. His shin grazed the bar as he moved toward the ground, but his penis was the thing that ruined the move -- slapping the bar as he made his way down to the ground.
The foul that resulted cost Ogita his place in the finals, and he was only able to make a height of 5.45 meters -- leaving him in 21st place and ending his bid for gold in Rio, News.com reported.
In other Olympics news, Simone Biles just missed a chance to secure a record-tying fourth gold medal in Rio after a mistake on the balance beam. Her mistake allowed Netherlands’ Sanne Wevers to take the gold and the States’ Laurie Hernandez to take silver.
Sadly, the mistake also cost Biles the chance to be the first female gymnast to win five golds in a single Olympics. Despite that, Biles has been praised by many as one of the greats -- with 1984 champion Mary Lou Retton calling her “the greatest gymnast I've ever seen."
Biles wasn’t discouraged by her loss, tweeting that she was “more than happy” to secure three gold and one bronze. She also said she was “so excited” for the following day’s floor finals.
Usain Bolt, who has become a star of the games in his own right, told CBS News that a tight schedule slowed the sprinters in Sunday’s 100-meter.
“I don't know who decided that,” he said. “It was really stupid. So, that’s why the race was slow.
