Two police officers from Ohio accidentally visiting a wrong address while on call stumbled across a Christmas tree with surprising ornaments.
The partners had noticed something odd about the Christmas tree when they were in the person's home, Mad World News reports. After examining the tree's ornaments, they were pleasantly surprised by what they saw and found.
In response to their inquiries, the homeowner affirmed the Christmas tree honored law enforcement personnel, both human and canine, who had been killed in the line of duty over the year.
Each ornament displayed the name and details of the fallen officers and canines.
One of the visiting officers, touched by the tribute, anonymously described their discovery of the Christmas tree in a Facebook post published on the Ohio Going Blue social media page.
"Partner and I accidentally went to the wrong address today on a run and stumbled across this beautiful tree," the officer wrote on Facebook.
"The owner took the time to write down every Officer killed in the line of duty this year and place it on the tree. Not only did she do all the Humans but she included all the K9s on the small ornaments," he continued.
He added: "She calls it the ‘Tree of Honor,’ guess our paths were meant to cross since she just finished it last night."
