National Rifle Association (NRA) vice president Wayne LaPierre has been a key figure in America’s gun debate.
In the direct aftermath of the Sandy Hook Massacre, Democrats in various branches of government made a hard push for increased gun control – something they suggest will prevent mass shootings from happening. LaPierre and his allies in the pro-gun community have consistently argued that, when it comes to tragedies like what happened at Newtown, the shooter should be held responsible – not the gun with which he did the deed.
