National Rifle Association (NRA) vice president Wayne LaPierre has been an outspoken critic of President Obama’s recent attempts to clamp down on gun owner freedoms. While it’s obviously impossible to simplify issues as complex as gun rights and gun control, Mr. LaPierre’s case essentially boils down to this fundamental argument: criminals will not abide by any sort of new laws and/or regulations, therefore, the only people impacted by fresh legislation will be regular folks who had no intention of misusing the arms in the first place.
Today, Mr. LaPierre will address one of the White House’s major gun control focus points: universal background checks. You can catch the entire speech, beginning at 10 p.m. ET., here on Opposing Views.
