NRA’s ‘Keepin’ It Country’ Tour Kicks Off In Gun-Free Arena

The NRA is presenting a tour with country singer Alan Jackson, but the opening night is going to take place in an auditorium that doesn't allow guns.

The tour begins on April 11, 2015, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The show includes Christian comedian Jeff Foxworthy and singer Jon Pardi.

According to Jackson's website, "The concert adds to an exciting week in downtown Nashville, as the Saturday night show takes place during the 144th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits. The event, which regularly draws more than 70,000 attendees is set at the Music City Center for 2015 and includes acres of the latest products in firearms, accessories, apparel; addresses by national leaders; and a variety of family friendly events all across the city."

However, the Bridgestone Arena, where the show will take place, is a gun-free zone, which the NRA strongly opposes.

The Bridgestone Arena website lists "weapons and dangerous devices of any type" on its list of "Carry In and Contraband Items."

On the same page, the arena notes "Firearms / Weapons" and states, "Guests are prohibited from bringing weapons into Bridgestone Arena and Bridgestone Arena Plazas."
