Being the proprietor of the Venice Beach Freakshow in Los Angeles, it's no surprise Todd Ray was able to sniff out a rare and unique dog (video below)
Ray also holds the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of two-headed animals, reports The Huffington Post.
When 2-year-old Toby, a two-nosed Australian shepherd dog, was abandoned by its owners a year ago, Ray couldn’t pass up the opportunity to adopt him.
“He was picked up by the dog catcher,” Ray told The Huffington Post. “I heard about him and contacted them and they said it was almost at the end of his time. They were going to put him down.”
An animal rescue group saved Toby from being euthanized. At first Ray was concerned the two snouts would cause breathing problems, but a vet who examined Toby said the dog was in perfect health.
Toby is in good company because Ray owns other strange animals, like a two-legged Chihuahua and a five-legged miniature Doberman pinscher.
The proud owner now thinks his dog’s double snouts give him a heightened sense of smell.
“He can sniff out anything,” Ray said. “I can throw a ball where no one can see it and he’ll still pick it out.”
Toby is so special that Ray gave him two nicknames and has posted a YouTube video featuring the dog.
“I call him Toby-One Kenobi, but also Toby Two-Nose -- that sounds like a gangster name,” Ray laughed.
