No Jail Time For Convicted Child Molester In Mississippi


A Mississippi man who pleaded guilty to child molestation charges will not receive any jail time.

According to Magee News, Billy Pat Graves, 76, was given a 10-year suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to two counts of child molestation and "gratification of lust against his granddaughters" in July.

WHLT-TV notes that Graves faced up to 30 years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

The Covington County man appeared in court Monday where he was sentenced to three years of home confinement with an electronic monitor. He was ordered to pay $5,000 for each count.

He was given five years supervised probation.

He is required to register as a sex offender and can’t have contact with a minor female under the age of 16.
