NFL Players Association Selling LGBT Pride Shirts
The NFL Players Association is releasing its new "LGBT Pride Vintage T-Shirts" to raise funds for Athlete Ally, a nonprofit organization that promotes LGBT tolerance in sports.
"I am extremely excited that the NFLPA’s One Team Shop is adding its name to the list of ever-growing allies," former NFL player Brendon Ayanbadejo said in a statement. "The simple fact that football players believe in equality for every human being is going to make an impact on a lot of peoples' lives."
Ayanbadejo has been an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights.
The ex-Baltimore Ravens linebacker told the NY Daily Newsin May: “The LGBT movement is a continuation of the civil rights movement. Now it is LGBT time.”
According to the Baltimore Sun, the shirts will include the names of present and former NFL players: Ayanbadejo, Terrell Suggs, Donte Stallworth, Domonique Foxworth, Chris Kluwe, Connor Barwin, Scott Fujita, Steve Gleason, Chris Gocong and Eric Winston.
