New York City police officer Gilberto Valle was arrested for a gruesome plot to allegedly kidnap, cook and eat as many as 100 women, according to the FBI.
Valle, a married six-year veteran, allegedly sent emails and text messages to co-conspirators about “plans to kidnap, rape, torture, kill, cook and eat body parts of a number of women,” according to The New York Times.
The so-called 'cannibal cop' wrote in a chat room that his oven was “big enough to fit one of these girls if I folded their legs" and how he had "researched methods of disabling and drugging women, and agreeing with at least one other individual to kidnap a woman in exchange for a sum of money.”
“But I will really get off on knocking her out, tying up her hands and bare feet and gagging her. I think I would rather not get involved in the rape. You paid for her. She is all yours and I don’t want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl.”
The FBI followed the discussions of Valle and his co-conspirators in chatrooms, got a warrant and searched Valle's computer, finding more plan and files on over 100 women. One document was entitled: “Abducting and Cooking (Victim #1): A Blueprint,” repots CBS New York.
NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said in a statement: "This is a bizarre case. We suspended the officer immediately upon his arrest, and a review is now underway to determine whether there was anything in his background that should have alerted the department to his alleged proclivities. I want to commend the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau detectives and FBI agents who worked jointly on this investigation."
